How to Become Human Again in Dont Starve Together
Seasons are points of the Don't Starve twelvemonth in which the surroundings changes, changing the gameplay. Annotation that while seasons have specific lengths specified in the code, in that location appears to exist relatively common rounding errors that result in i actress day being in a flavor; this tends to add i-2 days per year. In Don't Starve Together, these extra days are much less common.
In Sandbox Mode, if y'all don't customize your earth, the showtime Winter will begin on day 21 and end on twenty-four hour period 35 (15 days full). The seasons should and so go on alternate between 20 day Summers and fifteen day Winters (next wintertime on day 56, etc.).
For customization:
- A long season lasts around 50 days
- A short season lasts around 10 days
During Summer, the days are longer, crops grow, and Food is easier to find.
In Wintertime, Nights are longer and the histrion must stay warm to avoid Freezing to decease. Plants stop growing and many creatures stop being agile, while other creatures can just be encountered during Wintertime.
Winter tin can exist a challenge and should not be taken lightly. Players should fix for Winter during the Summertime by stocking up on resource and making certain they will have sources of heat, Food, and Health, too equally the ways to defend themselves from Monsters.
Reign of Giants
In the Reign of Giants DLC, there are iv seasons; Bound, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Wintertime is largely the same, albeit with changes to Deerclops that make survival more difficult. Fall, for the most office, is the old Summer, making it the safest season of the yr. A new Summertime has been added, in which the player is susceptible to Overheating (the opposite of "Freezing" in the Wintertime). During Spring, there is no Freezing or Overheating, but rainfall is excessive and can crusade Wetness, which causes rapid Sanity loss, and can lead to Freezing afterwards prolonged exposure. Rabbit holes will close, forcing the actor to switch food sources in the Winter, Bees volition plow red (hostile) and Beefalos will be in heat, making them hostile to everything.
Bound and Autumn are considered "friendly" seasons, while Summer and Winter are considered "harsh". Because of this, when starting a new game, the default starting flavor will exist either Spring or Autumn. The "friendly" seasons last for twenty days each, whereas the "harsh" seasons are merely 15 days. A full year in the game is lxx days long.
Very Short | Curt | Default | Long | Very Long | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Jump | 5 | 12 | 20 | 31 | 50 |
Summer | 5 | 10 | 15 | 22 | twoscore |
Fall | five | 12 | xx | 30 | 50 |
Wintertime | 5 | x | 15 | 22 | twoscore |
Each flavor now has its own "Giant", or boss mob, that spawns sometime during the respective flavor. Winter retains the Deerclops, merely at present there is the Bearger in Autumn, the Dragonfly in Summer, and the Moose/Goose in Leap. Each giant will drop a material needed to arts and crafts an detail that can be used to better survive the hazards of the following flavour, with the exception of the Dragonfly, as existence before Autumn (the flavour with no special take a chance), will instead drop a material to craft an item used for combat or a special container.
Shipwrecked
In the Shipwrecked DLC, at that place are four seasons; Mild Season (xx days), Hurricane Season (16 days), Monsoon Season (21 days), and Dry Season (16 days). Compared to Reign of Giants, the year is slightly longer, at 73 days, as each season (except Mild) has an extra day.
Mild Season is equivalent to fall without hazards apart from occasional strong winds and balmy rain. Hurricane Season differs the virtually from seasons in Reign of Giants where instead of having to deal with common cold, the hazards are frequent strong winds, downpour, lightning and big waves. Monsoon Season is similar to spring with frequent rains just with additional hazard of areas getting flooded. Dry out season is equivalent to Reign of Giants' summer with overheating just with the added danger of volcanoes erupting.

Fall depicted in a promotional image for Reign of Giants.
Autumn is one of the iv seasons from the Reign of Giants DLC. It has a 50% chance to be the starting season instead of Spring. Autumn is generally a peaceful flavour, comparable to Summertime in the vanilla version of the game.
Autumn lasts 20 days past default, so the first Autumn lasts either from day 1 to 20, or from day 37 to 56. This will modify if the length of the seasons is edited in the Preferences. Stages in Adventure Fashion may have different seasonal variations.
During the bulk of fall, nights are short. This allows to move around more often without fearing the dark. It besides means that less supplies are needed to survive the darkness.
During Autumn, the player does not have to worry about Overheating or Freezing, at that place is simply occasionally Rain, Farm Crops grow unremarkably, Walrus Camps are not active, Cerise Hounds may occasionally announced rather than Normal Hounds during timed Hound attacks, Redbirds and Crows appear, and the Koalefant appears with a red hide. Besides, Birchnut Trees will offset to lose their leaves, which change color, and fully-grown ones will yield extra Birchnuts when cutting down. All the same, in Don't Starve Together, they have the highest chance of spawning Toxicant Birchnut Copse. Whatever resource such as Grass, Saplings, or Drupe Bushes that withered in the Summer will render to their harvested land at the beginning of Autumn. Mini Glaciers brainstorm to form during autumn.
Fall's seasonal Giant is the Bearger. It will eat Food off the ground and destroy whatever Structures and Plants that arrive its way when it is rampaging.
Fall leads to Wintertime, so players might want to spend their first Fall preparing for the harsh weather that will soon exist upon them.

" Life in the frozen wastes. "

Wintertime is one of two seasons affecting the surface present in Don't Starve (the other being Summer). Information technology is also one of the four seasons in Reign of Giants DLC, the others being Summer, Spring, and Autumn. By default, Sandbox Mode Winter lasts for 16 days; the first winter will kickoff on day 21 and terminate on day 36. This will change if the thespian edit the length of the seasons in the Preferences. Stages in Risk Mode may have different seasonal variations. Many things in the world change in Winter and surviving can become much more than difficult.
Freezing
The biggest modify in Wintertime is the drop in temperature which results in freezing if the character gets too cold. Freezing chop-chop drops the actor's health. To foreclose freezing, characters must maintain their body temperature past regularly going dorsum to a source of heat. The best style to practise that is to deport around a heated Thermal Rock, and ane should always have the means to make Fire in an emergency during wintertime. Additionally, wearing warm habiliment increases the fourth dimension a character can be away from burn earlier getting also cold. Wilson'southward and Webber'south Beards too helps them keep warm similar to warm clothing, and their efficiency increases as information technology gets longer.
Building a Thermal Measurer helps the player know when the change in seasons is coming ahead of time, and tells how cold it is getting. Dusk and Night are colder than Solar day, and they last longer in Winter. Freezing is often a recurring decease for new players as they don't set up well enough to stop the freezing in an emergency. A good strategy to keep temperature upward is to put on warm wearing apparel on the final day of Summer (or Autumn in the Reign of Giants DLC) and so heat will beginning off college in winter.
Seasonal Changes
During Winter several new creatures appear and some others become into hiding. The change which can be seen on the first twenty-four hours of Winter (even before snowfall begins to autumn) is that the sepia toned surroundings gets a blueish tint, Redbirds are replaced by Snowbirds, Rabbits change into a white wintertime coat, and both remain an agile and stable food source throughout the Winter season. When the Hounds attack, Cerise Hounds are replaced with Blue Hounds. Going on a Koalefant hunt will result in finding a Winter Koalefant whose trunk tin be made into a warm Puffy Belong.
Some new aggressive creatures announced too. A Walrus hunting party led by MacTusk along with his son WeeTusk and their 2 Bluish Hounds will appear in an igloo at their Walrus Military camp (which can be plant during Summer). In addition, Deerclops also roams the Winter landscape. Deerclops is huge simply slow, and volition blast structures in addition to characters. A new blazon of neutral beast known as Pengulls will often hop out of the sea in huge flocks during the first few days of wintertime.
Many creatures are inactive in Winter. Bees do not leave their hives and thus do not produce love (Killer Bees and homeless Bees tin even so exist institute). Butterflies do not spawn from flowers; nor practise Mosquitoes or Frogs spawn because Ponds themselves are frozen over and cannot exist fished, although they tin be walked across. Batilisks volition spawn in fewer numbers but stay out longer.
In addition to Rain, snow begins to fall during Wintertime which builds upwardly on copse and many other objects (this snow melts abroad during Summer or Winter rain). For the majority of the flavor, the temperature is too low for Farms to abound crops, all the same whatever crops currently awaiting harvest will still be fresh until picked. Berry Bushes, Saplings, and Grass Tufts regrow extremely slowly in Winter, to the betoken that they seem to stop completely. Spiky Bushes are not afflicted by the winter cold and will regrow as in Summer.
Nights and dusks are much longer (and days shorter) in winter, and this has a subtle impact on Sanity. Sanity slowly drains at night, and does not have a run a risk to fully recharge during the winter twenty-four hours. This is compounded as sanity falls, considering dark-time hallucinations (and nearness to dark) further bleed sanity—spiraling into more impactful hallucinations, including Dark Hands. A large fix of Drying Racks (x to xx) can be a smashing help, allowing Rabbits and Birds (which proceed to spawn during Winter) to be turned into Small Jerky—restoring 10 Sanity each. In fact, living off Traps and Drying Racks is a simple and sustainable style to conquer wintertime, hunger, and sanity.
Food rots 25% slower in Wintertime due to the cold. Food stored in the refrigerator will stay fresh for almost the entire normal-length winter if its default lifetime is 10 days.
Snow
Snow is basically wintertime rain; it will brand the turf snowy thus making it hard to encounter roads and paths. It will also add together a layer of snowfall to objects such equally Trees or Science Machines. Setting rain to lots (infinite) on world presets volition brand infinite snow during wintertime. Snow causes the characters trunk temperature to slightly decrease. Snow does not damage WX-78 the same way rain does. Snow will all melt away when information technology turns to Summer, or if it rains during the Wintertime.
Reign of Giants
In the Reign of Giants DLC, Mini Glaciers will form during Winter, and freezing is a possibility in Caves and Ruins. In addition to this, Night and Sunset are even longer during Wintertime in the DLC, taking a bigger hit on sanity for those who are unprepared. The DLC adds some new insulating items, similar the Hibearnation Vest, to help fend off the common cold.
Birchnut Trees are also not ambitious during Winter, and they accept no leaves or Birchnuts left on them.
Winter in Reign of Giants leads to Spring.
Tips
- Wickerbottom players volition notice using Ice Boxes during winter wise, since spoilage is more than damaging on sanity, which she may exist low on due to insomnia.
- A Bee Box may be harvested during Winter without the retaliation of any Bees. While a Bee Box will not produce love during the season, the dear produced prior will not begin to spoil until harvested, making reserves of dearest a very valuable source of food during Winter.
- Warm clothing does not help increase body temperature. Taking warm clothing off during the night when you are past a burn down saves the durability on the clothes.
- Torches in an emergency, the torch may be used to set flammable objects on burn, which will keep the histrion warm. Players should be conscientious though, as standing as well close to a wild fire will cause damage(unless you're playing as Willow), different a campfire.
- There is a Chest (role of a "boon" or set up slice) which may spawn in a Wood biome spawned between a Winterometer and an Ice Box. The chest itself contains an array of winter-related items such as an Ice Staff, a Winter Hat and a Breezy Belong. Even so, upon opening the chest, winter starts immediately. Destroying the chest with a Hammer drops its loot, but still triggers the trap. Still, opening the chest near the first of Winter will give Warm Wear, and since Winter has already started, information technology will have no significant effects.
- In the Reign of Giants DLC, there's a version of this set up piece that starts Summer instead. The two tin exist told apart by the presence ofCacti in the Summer version.
- If playing as Woodie, changing into the Werebeaver at the commencement of Winter volition keep the player from freezing. All that is required is to gnaw plenty logs to keep the meter from reaching cypher. A practiced style to spend the fifteen days of Winter is to find an area with a large collection of Spider Dens, mine all the surrounding copse, and have time killing Spiders. When Wintertime ends, all the dropped Spider Glands tin can exist nerveless by Woodie.
- It is highly recommended to make a Thermal Stone before Winter, and heat it up before exploring around. Thermal Stones will prevent the player from Freezing when heated.

Bound depicted in a promotional paradigm for Reign of Giants.
Bound is one of the four seasons from the Reign of Giants DLC, indicated in advent by the world having a greenish tint.
It has a 50% chance to be the starting season instead of Autumn when playing in Sandbox Style. With the Default Preferences, it lasts 20 days. Therefore, the first Spring lasts either from day 1 to 20, or from day 37 to 56. During the beginning and especially the centre of Spring, Dusks are very long (affecting player'due south sanity) but they quickly go shorter towards the last third of the season. During the first half, days are very brusque but they rapidly get longer as the second half progresses. Stages in Adventure Style may have different seasonal variations. Some characteristics in the world change in Bound, and surviving can go more than difficult.
Changes in the World
During Jump, Mini Glaciers volition begin to melt and Bees will go more than hostile (though they are yet not considered Killer Bees).

The giant of Spring: Moose/Goose.
Flowers will randomly spawn during spring even when there are no insects effectually.
Rabbit Holes close during Spring, forcing the player to look for a different nutrient source.
The Moose/Goose and its nest tin be encountered during Bound.
Lureplants will naturally spawn in areas that the actor has explored. Additionally, Beefalo will e'er exist in oestrus and Blueish Hounds tin spawn with Hound waves.
Spring leads into Summertime. Every bit Summer can exist very mortiferous when unprepared, the long-term survival goal for bound is to prepare for summer in advance.
Rain and its effects
- Main Article: Wetness
Leap is the season where rain is very frequent and puddles form on the ground.

The Wetness Meter.
While temperature is non an consequence at this time of year, the histrion will occasionally freeze due to wetness.
Constant rain ways that fuel is less efficient when lighting fires and more of it is needed to maintain a fire.
Additionally, Lightning strikes are much more frequent in Spring and can crusade impairment to the player or to unprotected structures vulnerable to fire. There is as well a chance of Frog Rain.
Rain from the surface seeps into the soil, causing the Caves and Ruins to baste water from their ceiling, having the aforementioned outcome as rain (This means higher Sanity Loss to account for).
Constant rain makes tracking Koalefants more difficult due to tracks disappearing.
Meats take more time to dry with a Drying Rack due to the rain.
On the positive side, rain causes crops to grow much quicker and Mushrooms can exist picked more frequently as rain causes them to regenerate. Berry Bushes and other plants also regenerate faster.

Summertime is the season in which the game typically begins, and is longer than its counterpart, Winter. By default, in Sandbox Mode summer lasts for 20 Days and resumes after sixteen days of winter (Adventure Mode worlds have different seasonal variations).
During Summer, most creatures are active, and the days are longer. Crops grow, and Nutrient is easier to discover. Rain occasionally falls during Summer, which reduces Sanity and may event in Lightning strikes; nevertheless, it also speeds up ingather growth. Nutrient spoils faster during summer.
During summertime, the Mactusk N' Son hunting political party are not nowadays at their Walrus Camp. Carmine Hounds may occasionally appear rather than Blue Hounds during timed Hound attacks; Redbirds and Crows appear; and the Koalefant appears with a blood-red hide.
During days of summertime, the globe is presented in sepia tone as opposed to blue tint in wintertime.
Caves and Ruins are in a state of permanent summertime.
Reign of Giants

Reign of Giants Summer depicted in a promotional image.
In the Reign of Giants DLC, Summertime lasts for 16 days by default. Therefore, the first Summer will last from day 21 to 36, or from day 57 to 72. Summer leads into Autumn. Summertime is indicated past the world having much more sepia-toned tint than normal, which changes in brightness periodically, and past DSP which causes audio effects and music to sound far away and hot, similar to Wintertime's muffled sounds. Days are also much longer in Summertime, while Sunset being the shortest, lasting just one segment during mid-season. The length of the Night is average.
During Summertime, plants volition wilt and require fertilization in order to regrow, and food will spoil 25% faster. Plants render to normal a few days into Autumn, even without fertilizer. On the other mitt, fertilized crops tend to grow fast due to longer daylight but not as fast equally during jump due to less pelting.
Due to longer days, daylight-related Sanity is less of an result than in other seasons.
Cactus will yield Cactus Flowers when picked during Summer.
Occasionally the Dragonfly can exist encountered who will roam around the landscape, setting nearby structures on fire.
Overheating
The intense heat provides the challenge of the season. Similarly to freezing in the Wintertime, an unprotected player will suffer damage from Overheating. The player can utilize or article of clothing items such as ice, an Water ice Cube, and a Chilled Amulet or stand under a tree to cool themselves. They can as well apply shade from a Straw Chapeau, Umbrella or Eyebrella, or wear a Summer Frest or Floral Shirt to delay the charge per unit at which they overheat. The role player can likewise freeze a Thermal Rock in an Ice Box or Snowfall Chester, even placing it next to a level 4 Endothermic Fire and agree onto it to cool themselves.
Wildfires
Additionally, the summer season experiences a drought, and items can ignite and outburst into flames. This includes plants, such as Berry Bushes, mobs, and even structures like the Science Machine. When an item is nearing its flammable betoken, it volition begin to visually smoke and the actor'due south character volition comment on information technology. When the structures have been burnt downwards, players tin hammer burnt structures to regain some of the materials back, nigh 25% of what it was fabricated of if crafted.
Items and structures can be also exist protected from combustion by using an Ice Flingomatic, which will fire snowballs at smoldering or flaming objects. Smoldering objects (including smoldering Pigs) can be manually cooled with Water ice, Fertilizers, Water ice Staff or with the actor'due south hands (information technology volition harm the actor by v), but Ice is non readily available in the Summertime, and in a large base of operations, fires may starting time faster than the player tin reach them. This makes it very difficult to protect Saplings, Grass, Berry Bushes, Trees and other combustible farms during the Summer, as the fire volition keep spreading until everything is burned. Items will merely combust when near the player, so they may also be protected but by fugitive them until Autumn.

Mild Flavor, or Calm Season is a Season from the Shipwrecked DLC. It is equivalent to Autumn. In Mild Season, the days are long and nights are short to start simply as the season progresses days get shorter and nights longer. Mild season is indicated by a saturated color scheme. It is the default flavour in which a thespian begins. When following a previous Dry Season, the offset twenty-four hours still has intense volcanic eruptions. Strong Winds and Rain can occur during the second one-half of mild season, but are far less severe and less frequent than during Hurricane Season.
Seagulls may be found in the Ocean while sailing during this Season. More valuable drops are rarer when angling with Trawl Net during Balmy Flavour.
Due to lack of Overheating, Flooding and other hazards, Mild Flavour is the best time to explore, gather resources and prepare for coming seasons, especially Hurricane Season. Due to the long days and low frequency of pelting, Sanity is commonly relatively easy to maintain.
Mild Season is followed by Hurricane Season. Due to the harsh nature of Hurricane Season, Balmy Season is all-time spent preparing for the Lightning, Rain, and Stiff Winds that await them.
Strategy
Balmy Season is the easiest of the four seasons to survive in Shipwrecked, with calm seas and relatively few survival challenges. For this reason it is best spent exploring, base of operations building, and preparing for coming seasons. In a new play through the first days should be spent finding a suitable location to constitute a base of operations. Base locations are flexible, though many players prefer larger islands with both Jungle and Embankment biomes. Jungle provides a source of Bamboo, Vines, Snakeskins, Eggs, Bananas, and Dubloons. Beach provides Limpet Rocks, Crabbit Dens, Palm Trees, Twigs, Grass, Seashells, and Sand. Many players prefer to avoid or destroy Prime Ape Huts on the same island every bit their base. Additional factors such as proximity to the Slot Machine, Yaarctopus, and Volcano can also be considered.
While exploring the histrion should gather enough coral for a Chiminea and some Anti Venoms in preparation for the stiff winds and mosquitoes of the Hurricane and Monsoon Seasons respectively. Gold should besides be gathered where possible and ane or more Lightning Rods constructed to protect structures and resources farms during Hurricane Flavor. Clothing to protect against wetness should exist prepared for Hurricane and Monsoon seasons. A Snakeskin Chapeau and Snakeskin Jacket are easiest and provide immunity to wetness when worn. A Palm Leaf Hut or a planted Palm Tree next to a Chiminea tin can also help to prevent wetness. For other solutions and further information meet Wetness. Hurricane Season begins on day 21, and so the actor should aim to have a bones base and wetness prevention fix by then.
If the role player already has a base and then Mild Flavour is highly flexible and can often be spent exploring. Come across Guides/Surviving Shipwrecked for a more detailed breakdown.
Tips
- Parrots will stop spawning in Hurricane Season, then if the player wants to construct a Piratihatitator before Monsoon Flavour they will have to catch one in Mild Season.
- Due to the calm seas and lower spawn chance of Tiger Shark Mild Season is arguably the all-time season for exploration and resource gathering.

Hurricane Flavour is one of the iv seasons from the Shipwrecked DLC. It is equivalent to Winter, and is indicated past the globe taking on a bluish tint.
Like winter, Hurricane Season begins on solar day 21 and ends on day 36, following the cease of the Mild Season. In Hurricane Season, the days are relatively brusque with all 3 cycles of daylight existence relatively equal in length during the afterwards half of the season. Unlike Winter, freezing is not an effect, plants however abound normally and food spoils at normal rate. In Hurricane Flavour, Parrots practise not announced and Seagulls will visit land, dissimilar during other seasons, where they can only be establish in Oceans.
During Hurricane Flavor, Strong Winds are frequent. Strong Winds tend to extinguish Campfires and Fire Pits, requiring significantly more combustibles to keep the flame burning. Chiminea provides protection from winds but requires less readily available resource to create. Potent Winds may rarely cut harvestable Plants and Trees causing their resources to drib and they will turn into harvested states and Stumps respectively.
Within less than a twenty-four hours after the winds appear, strong rain, lightning, and Hail starts to occur. Hail can be Refined into Ice which tin be used in Crock Pot recipes, reducing the need to explore for nutrient.
Large Waves also appear in medium-depth and deep Ocean during this season. The probability of large waves appearing increases as the season progresses and by the end of the season, only large waves are present. Coupled with wind-affected movement, exploration becomes more hard. Lightning is extreme and severe during storms, hit every 5–20 seconds. Players will need to take a Lightning Rod in place at the starting time of the season, or everything around may be destroyed in under a minute. On the positive side, Lightning prevents Charlie from attacking. In addition, the ofttimes recharged Lightning Rod may replace the need for a flammable-based source of light, as the player is never in danger in freezing. If the player also has a Snakeskin Hat and plants a tree next to the rod, he will be protected from wetness during the storms.
Fireflies and Butterflies do non appear during the Hurricane Season.
Stiff Winds and Hail will disperse most of the Shoals in the world, making them unreliable as a food source during the Hurricane Season.
While oceans are windier, fishing with Trawl Cyberspace provides a better variety of catch than during Balmy Season and Monsoon Season but not every bit much as during Dry Flavour.
The Sealnado can exist encountered well-nigh the stop of the season.
Hurricane season is followed by Monsoon Season.

Monsoon Season, or Light-green Season, is a season from Don't Starve: Shipwrecked. Information technology is equivalent to Spring. Monsoon Season is indicated by the earth having a bluish dark-green tint. Past default, it begins on day 37 and ends on day 58. During Monsoon Flavour, nights gradually go shorter while days get longer. Dusks remain long.
Rain during Monsoon Flavour causes flooding. The outset days of monsoon seasons are relatively rain-free. However, as the season progresses, rain becomes more than frequent and flooding worsens until most of the state is flooded during the end of the flavor. Lightning, while present, is less frequent than during Hurricane Flavor and Strong Winds do non occur. Frequent rain ways that Mushrooms grow dorsum quickly.
The Rains in Monsoon Season come up in waves, similar to Dry Season Volcanic Eruptions. Each pelting will increase the size of existing puddles. Thus, the starting time rain of the season is of import in limiting future flooding. Appropriate use of Sandbags tin can permanently forbid a pool from expanding and remove existing flooding.
Poison Mosquitoes appear during Monsoon Season. They spawn in flooded areas.
Similar in Spring, normal bees go ambitious towards the histrion. Crabbit holes collapse within the first days of the season. Even so, Sharkitten Den opens up and the risk of Tiger Shark spawning is the highest.
Trawl Net line-fishing yields as much grab as during Mild Flavour.
Monsoon Season is followed by Dry out Season. The Long-term goal of Monsoon Season is to prepare for Dry Season in advance. It is more easily done within the first one-half of the season where flooding is not much of an upshot and rains are non very frequent.
Strategy
The principal concerns during Monsoon Season are managing flooding, wetness, poison, and preparing for Dry out Season. Controlling flooding early on in the season with Sandbags and crafted turfs limits the demand to deal with both wetness and toxicant throughout the flavour. For this reason, rapidly placing Sandbags at the 'eye' of puddles during the first rain is important. See Sandbags and Flooding for more information.
Crafted turfs such as Wooden Flooring can forbid puddles from spawning on them, but puddles tin can still aggrandize into them. Snakeskin Carpeting can be used to prevent puddles from spawning in resources farms or any expanse that has plants. Structures such as an Alchemy Engine and Ice Box volition not function while flooded.
If the player must venture into flooded zones, an Umbrella combined with a hat with a water resistance rating such as Superlative Hat or Football game Helmet volition prevent the player from getting moisture. Snakeskin Jacket and Chapeau are likewise a suitable and cheap solution to combat Wetness if no loftier-terminate gear were found from Ten Marks the Spot. The Blubber Suit and Dumbrella are peradventure the best private solutions considering either one past itself makes the actor immune to wetness. The Dumbrella also protects the player character from lightning strikes.
If poison is a business organization, an aplenty supply of Anti Venom should be established before Poisonous substance Mosquitoes begin spawning. This can be accomplished either in the early on days of the flavour or in previous seasons. Alternatively a Seashell Suit or Horned Helmet tin can be used to prevent poisoning from Mosquitoes. In an emergency, a Venom Gland can be consumed to remove poisoning, though this is non recommended due to the impairment caused when consumed. For more details on dealing with Mosquitoes, run into Poison Mosquitoes.
Tips
- Monsoon season is the easiest fourth dimension to obtain Shark Gills for the Dumbrella due to the opening of the Sharkitten Den. The Tiger Shark will aggro when the player approaches the den or attacks a Sharkitten
- Toxicant Mosquitoes are an excellent source of Xanthous Mosquito Sacks for healing

The Dry Season (besides known equally Volcano Season) is one of the four Seasons in the Shipwrecked DLC. It is indicated past the earth having yellowish/orange tint, similar to Summer in Reign of Giants DLC. By default, the first Dry Flavor begins on twenty-four hours 58 and ends on mean solar day 74. During the Dry Season, nights are very brusque, and dusk starts long just becomes shorter in length as the flavour progresses.
Within the first days of the season, areas that were Flooded during Monsoon Season brainstorm to dry up. The temperatures soon rise to the point where Overheating becomes a major result, specially during the heart of the season. Overheating is not as severe compared to Reign of Giants DLC's Summer season, and fires do not spontaneously beginning. In addition, overheating is usually not an result during the starting time and last two days of Dry out Season. Some plants like Bamboo tin wither, making them non-functional unless treated. Limpet Rocks tin wither too.
During Dry Season, the bounding main is calmer with fewer waves. The waves go less frequent towards the end of the season. Line-fishing with a Trawl Net during Dry Season will yield the greatest variety of grab, including a chance to obtain Obsidian.
Dry out Flavor is followed by Mild Flavour.
Volcanic Eruptions
Shortly later the flooded areas accept stale up completely, the Volcano will offset to erupt. Tremors occur three times before each eruption, giving slightly more than than one-half of a 24-hour interval to ready. When the volcano erupts, Dragoon Eggs rain downwardly from the sky, each briefly showing a shadow where it will land, and targeting areas within and slightly across the player's view. Eruptions can be delayed by offering appeasement to the Volcano Altar of Snackrifice. With regular appeasement one can become the entire Dry Season with no eruptions, though this requires frequent travel to or living within the Volcano.
Notation that fifty-fifty if Volcano is fully appeased - the number of warning tremors does not reset. Therefore if for example Volcano was initially appeased right after the third tremor happened - once the delay is exceeded, the eruption will commence without any warning tremors at all. This means that one cannot rely on tremors to time the appeasements.
Strategy
Since Dragoon Eggs tend to cause havoc, information technology is recommended to leave an established base and retreat to a location with no or few combustible resources. The all-time places for this are barren landscapes and shallow bounding main.
Ocean is recommended more during the heart of the season where overheating is a major problem and wetness tin provide emergency cooldown. The ocean is a less viable option during the terminal days of the flavor when the frequency of eruptions rises dramatically. Fortunately by that indicate, overheating is less of a problem.
Another strategy, requiring the role player to gear up beforehand, is to gratify the Volcano by offer appeasement to Volcano Altar of Snackrifice. Trapping a Crabbit or a Bird is a source of renewable appeasement while trinkets tin exist used for emergency measure. Building a sub-army camp about the volcano with bird/crabbit traps is a good thought since if an eruption happens, the player'southward main camp won't be at chance of being destroyed. This strategy is valuable for the last days of Dry out flavour where eruptions happen extremely ofttimes and the role player needs more fourth dimension to prepare.
Alternatively, a base of operations can be congenital inside the Volcano. Eggs provide a high appeasement value, and can exist obtained using a bird in a Birdcage, by feeding information technology Cooked Monster Meat. Monster Meat can be obtained by killing Dragoons or planting Spider Eggs inside the Volcano and killing the spawning Spiders. This can exist efficiently accomplished past utilise of an Elephant Cactus monster farm. Transplanting Jungle Turf and Snakeskin Rug into the biome allows for the cosmos of a fully sustainable base. An Ice Box paired with ii Thermal Stones is recommended to preclude overheating. Destroying or avoiding Dragoon Dens near the base is as well advisable, due to the Dragoons' tendency to set structures on burn down if aggroed. Ice Flingomatics can provide some protection from Dragoons and prevent transplanted Plants from withering.
For dodging, it is best to stay on a Beach or Shallow Sea, or any lite-coloured Turf. The Ashes that cover the screen during an eruption may hinder vision and reactivity towards the shadows produced by falling Dragoon Eggs, which makes places similar the Magma Turf a bad idea with its night colour even though information technology doesn't have the hazard of burning resources. Thus, a sacrificial Embankment for volcanic eruptions may exist needed in example the volcano hasn't been found however. Information technology is also a good idea to wear Armor while dodging Dragoon Eggs on land. Wearing a Log Suit with maximum Wellness will allow any character to survive a directly hit. Combining a stronger armor with a helmet (such every bit a Football Helmet) will allow surviving multiple hits. For the eruptions happening at dark, a Campfire or Endothermic Fire can be built for protection from Charlie and to exist able to see the shadows of falling Dragoon Eggs. Even so, these can be destroyed if any eggs strike near them. While Torches can exist used, they do non provide a large light radius. Therefore, the all-time selection is to use a Bottle Lantern or a Miner Hat. Landing Dragoon Eggs will sometimes form Lava Pools, which provide light with a adequately large radius, allowing the low-cal source to be unequipped to save their immovability. Obsidian Fire Pits are another alternative for providing light during a night eruption, a fully fueled Obsidian Burn down Pit provides calorie-free for a big area. However, this may be a scrap risky, since if the thespian gets close to the burn pit, landing Dragoon Eggs can destroy the Obsidian Burn Pit, eliminating the light source.
